Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp ginger minced, or ginger paste
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp onion powder
- For the Sauce:
- 3/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp seasame oil
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, add sliced steak, one tbsp corn starch, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp ginger, 1 tbsp garlic, 1 tsp onion powder. Mix all together and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Add 1 tbsp of oil to a hot pan, medium-high heat. Cook the beef in a single layer for about 1-2 minutes per side, until browned. Once seared and cooked, remove from skillet.
- To the same pan, add in soy sauce, broth, ginger, brown sugar, corn starch, oyster sauce, sesame oil and whisk together. Let simmer until slightly thickened.
- Add slightly steamed broccoli to the sauce and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Mix in cooked steak and coat the beef and broccoli.
- Spoon over rice and top with sesame seeds.
