Easy Chicken and Broccoli Recipe

One of my favorite takeout dishes has always been from my local Chinese restaurant. Making this dish at home is so easy to do in just a few, simple steps.

JUST LIKE TAKEOUT

This meal is perfect for those nights you aren’t sure what to make. This dish pairs well with Jasmine Rice or additional vegetables.

Easy Chicken and Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb broccoli florets, steamed
  • 1 tbsp cornstartch
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • For the Sauce:
  • 2/3 c low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl combine chicken, salt, oil, and cornstarch. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a second bowl combine all ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, on medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp of olive oil and cook chicken all the way through. About 8-10 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat and add in sauce mixture, followed by the steamed broccoli. Combine well with sauce and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
