One of my favorite takeout dishes has always been from my local Chinese restaurant. Making this dish at home is so easy to do in just a few, simple steps.
JUST LIKE TAKEOUT
This meal is perfect for those nights you aren’t sure what to make. This dish pairs well with Jasmine Rice or additional vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 lb broccoli florets, steamed
- 1 tbsp cornstartch
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
- For the Sauce:
- 2/3 c low sodium soy sauce
- 1 c chicken broth
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl combine chicken, salt, oil, and cornstarch. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a second bowl combine all ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
- In a large skillet, on medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp of olive oil and cook chicken all the way through. About 8-10 minutes.
- Reduce heat and add in sauce mixture, followed by the steamed broccoli. Combine well with sauce and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
