  • 8 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1/2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage together until browned and fully cooked. Break it up as it cooks.
  • Add diced onion and bell peppers to the meat. Cook for 4–5 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to coat everything. Cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.
  • Push everything slightly to one side and add the tomato paste. Let it cook for 1–2 minutes, then mix it in.
  • Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, onion soup mix, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Simmer for 8–10 minutes until the sauce thickens
  • Add the cooked spaghetti and reserved pasta water
  • Add salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

If it gets too thick, add more pasta water or broth. If you want extra spice, add additional the Cajun seasoning or add red pepper flakes.
