Perfect Baked Sweet Potato

Oven-baked sweet potatoes are my go-to when I want something cozy with basically no effort. Just pop them in a hot oven and they come out soft. caramelized, and naturally sweet. These are perfect for an easy side or to load up with your favorite toppings. 

Perfect Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients

  • 2-4 Sweet Potatoes
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional seasonings to taste: salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375.

 

Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt and pat dry.

slice the potatoes in half lengthwise creating two halves. Rub each piece lightly with olive oil, making sure all surfaces are covered. 

sprinkle and optional seasoning’s on the open side if desired. 

Arrange the sweet potatoes open side down on a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper. 

bake for 45 minutes

let rest in the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes. 

Flip over and enjoy as is or top with butter, honey, or brown sugar.
